How to play?
Game Setup
One person takes the role of the Judge, who knows the identity of all the players and facilitates as the game cycles between nightfall and daybreak
The players are assigned the following characters by random and they know only their own identity.
For 10-12 player game:
Good guys: 1 x Fortune Teller, 1 x Witch Doctor, 1 x Knight, (4-6) x Villagers
Bad guys: 3 x Murderers
The good guys win by getting rid of all the Murderers, within a specified time (usually 30 minutes). The Murderers win by hiding their identities in the day and working together to kill the good guys in the night, until the number of good guys remaining in the game is the same as the Murderers.
During the Game
Nightfall
1. The game starts with the Judge announcing it is night time and everyone closes their eyes to “sleep”.
2. The Murderers awaken to decide a player to kill. Murderers may also choose to kill one of their own in the hopes that the Witch Doctor will use up his ability to revive the killed player.
3. When the Murderers go back to sleep, the Witch Doctor awakens to know who has just been killed and may choose to revive that player, even if the Witch Doctor was the killed player. The Witch Doctor may also choose to poison and kill any other player. Each ability can only be used once in the game and both cannot be used on the same night.
4. When the Witch Doctor goes back to sleep, the Fortune Teller awakens to check if a player is good or bad, before going back to sleep.
Daybreak
1. All players are awake and the Judge announces the players who have been killed the night before. The killed players may choose to leave some last words.
2. The living players now take turn to give their opinions and debate on who should be voted out at the end of the day. Players may also choose to be silent during their turn to speak.
3. When everyone has been given the chance to speak, they may choose to vote a person out of the game. The person voted out may choose to say some last words before leaving the game.
4. The Knight may reveal his identity and challenge another player at any time in the day before voting begins. If the Knight challenges a good guy, the Knight dies and the game goes on. If the Knight challenges a Murderer, the murderer dies without any last words and the round immediate goes into nightfall without any voting. The knight may use this power at every round.
